If hostels had a star system this one would get four and a half golden ones, no contest. Hostel living as it should be; ‘Good Morning Budapest’ only opened this year but already its 18 beds in a variety of sized rooms are perennially popular. Friendly, gorgeous-looking staff welcome guests into a fabulously, swish lounge area with cosy, Ikea style sofas and an Internet corner perched above, bunk bed style. All beds come with huge, lockable draws underneath – plenty big enough for a lumpy rucksack and there’s a cosy, well-equipped kitchen with free tea and coffee. Can it get better? Yep! Arrive on a Thursday night and staff will treat you to a fab Hungarian feed. But they lose the half star as the place isn’t well signposted outside – perhaps it’s because it’s so good they wanna keep it a secret?
