After 100 Years Exhibition

A new blockbuster exhibition at the Hungarian National Gallery showcases the work of the painter Tamás Lossonczy. Famed for his thought-provoking art throughout Hungary, Lossonczy is best known for one of the museuem’s most popular paintings The Great Purifying Storm. The exhibition opening on the 12th August marks Lossonczy’s 105th birthday, testimony to the enduring appeal of one of the country’s best-loved artists.

Budapest Jewish Festival

The 12th Budapest Festival is a week-long celebration in the first week of September of Klezmer acts, music and exhibitions. Many events take place in the Great Synagogue on Dohany Street– an enriching setting to enjoy some of the finest moments of the festival. Highlights include Timna Brauer’s and Elias Meiri Ensemble’s songs and from Jerusalem Israeli Compas Dance Company’s Flamenco Night - a must for all Latin American addicts. Cultural events, film screenings and talks are part of the seven-day fest too.
