Sziget Festival 2009

It's here, Budapest's answer to Glastonbury - five hedonistic days and nights to rock yourself silly to some of the top bands and acts around. Sziget is Hungarian for 'island' and - apt as that's exactly where you'll be - on Óbudai Island (aka Hajógyári Island) in Óbuda, north of the city.

This little patch of land will cavort to beats from five gigantic stages - a main stage where up to 50,000 people can sway to the sounds of three international acts, including legendary R.E.M, and a Hungarian one every day; a World Music Stage; a HammerWorld Stage for all you rock freaks; a Djuice Party Arena - the place for electric dance; and Want2 stage - with a little bit of everything from World to Punk. Throw in a melodic music tent, kids area, exhibitions, events, dance, sports and movies and you've got the perfect ingredients for a blindingly, brilliant bash - only in Budapest.

You can check out more info about the festival on our special Sziget page Click here and at the official website - link below.

Madonna – Sweet and Sticky Tour

She’s here, she’s hot and she’ll be flexing her biceps and sliding down a few poles or two (sorry guys we mean the metal sort) all for the delight of her Eastern European fans. The undisputed Queen of Pop will be seducing the masses with hits form her latest album and no doubt will be going for the nostalgia angle as well with a few of her golden oldies. Yep – she may have clocked up half a century, but Madge’s stage antics makes the moves of Girls Aloud and assorted clones look like they’re rehearsing for the school prom. Check the official website for ticket availability.
