Late Baroque Impressions

Discover Baroque masterpieces at the National Gallery's latest blockbuster exhibition of old masters' works of art. A stunning array of classical paintings and pieces from the late 18th and early 19th centuries have been brought together to reveal the effects of the age of enlightenment on the traditional Baroque art movement. Artists included in the displays are Anton Maulbertsch and Josef Winterhalder.

Ben Hur in Budapest

Chariots at the ready as Budapest prepares to stage one of the most spectacular shows of all time - the legendary Ben Hur, the epic tale of a Roman gladiator's rise and fall set at the time of the Crucifixion. Made famous by Charlton Heston in the film version exactly 50 years ago, this all action event has a cast list of 500 - including 100 animals - and recreates all the most memorable scenes from the film including the grand bazaar, the naval battle and of course the awesome chariot race. Glenn Brown

Enter the surreal world of up and coming British born artist Glenn Brown in this new exhibition of his work, featuring dozens of his canvases on loan from the Tate Gallery in Liverpool. Mixing and matching themes and ideas from artists as diverse as Dalí, Auerbach, Rembrandt, and science fiction illustrators, Browns creations are at once kitsch and grotesque but always spellbinding.
