Opera House

|
Like so many of Budapest's finest buildings, the Opera House was constructed in the 19th Century: the architect in question one Miklos Ybl, who also saw St. Stephen's Basilica through to completion. In terms of beauty and acoustics Budapest's Opera House is considered to be amongst the very finest in the world, on a par with Milan's La Scala and Moscow's Bolshoi Theatre. As well as superb productions of world famous operas, you can also get tickets to see ballet and classical musical performances. For a taste of Hungarian culture try to catch a rendition of Ferenc Liszt's work, the country's finest composer. |
